The first Week

July 30 & 31
I spent the first night in Medicine Hat and the 2nd night in Moose Jaw.  With Bob’s family in Manitoba, I have traveled this route many times before.  I was struck by how much this part of Saskatchewan looks like pictures I’ve seen of the African savanna.

With reference to the freedom info I have been following, I made a sign for the back window that says
“People R the Value..........I-UV.com.........Follow Your Heart.
I hope that people who follow me on the road or who I meet in campgrounds will be curious and ask or look up the info.

Aug 1
Today I passed into the USA at North Portal in Saskatchewan/North Dakota.  I didn’t have a problem crossing although the agent raided my fridge for, lemons, limes, avocado, tomato.  He traded all that for a paper telling me what was not allowed.  Looking at the whole list, I was struck by the senselessness of it.  They say it is to protect US agriculture but the logic just isn’t there.  I think this is all part of the control of the food system.  They don’t want any products brought into the States that could provide seed other than what Monsanto provides.

As I drive, I have been listening to the Galactic History radio shows that I have downloaded from the Walking in Energy site on Blogtalk radio.  This information is disclosing information about what has happened on earth going back millions and billions of years.  It is telling a story of the galactic beings that have been here for that long and it explains how things have gotten so screwed up.  It is heavy going but if you are ready to go down the rabbit hole, I recommend it.  Start with a show that aired about May 20th on Walking in Energy.  I can’t remember the title but says something about Andrew Bartzis, Galactic Historian.

I drove 420 km & stayed in Minot, ND.

Aug 2
What a long straight road from Minot to Grand Forks, ND.  I was excited to see a bend in the road near Grand Forks!  Lots of corn fields which bring all kinds of yucky thoughts to mind.  Corn is used for cow feed, ethanol and high fructose corn syrup sweetener.  The seed is GMO owned and manipulated by Monsanto.  Its hard to see so much of it.

I stopped in Rugby, ND which claims to be the Geographical Centre of North America.

I’m walking Cordy (my dog) several times a day and I’m trying to ride my bike at night.

Drove  388 km & camped in Crookston, ND.

Aug 3
The drive from Crookston to just west of Duluth, MN reminds me of the road from Prince George to Jasper; not much population and lots of trees.

I went through Bemidji on Lake Bemidji which appears to be the first lake on the Mississippi River.

I saw a sign that cracked me up....
“Quality Orthopedic Surgery
Right in Your Back Yard”
That didn’t inspire images of quality to me.  I wondered who was responsible for providing the lighting and the bug nets.....LOL

I covered 348 km and camped in Sagnaw, MN

Aug 4
Had a couple of hiccups today.
The motorhome wouldn’t start.  With the help of Jimmy and the campground owner, we figured out it was a rusty battery terminal.  A little cleaning and I was on my way with HUGE gratitude for the help.

What is this?

I missed a turn somewhere in Duluth and found myself driving north along the west shore of Lake Superior instead of east along the south shore.

And that brings me to awareness of a difference of perspective.  As I drove along the south shore (after I found it) I saw all kinds of signs for “North Shore” this and that.  The question is.... Is shore in relation to the land or the body of water?  Since the US/Canada border runs through the middle of Lake Superior, then this is the northern boundary of their country.  Maybe that influences their perspective.

This is religious country.  Many different Christian churches are all along the way.  I thought of how areas were settled.  As soon as an area had enough people to afford it, they built a church and a school (often the same building initially).  Since religion and education are two of the tools used in the Domination and Control agenda, it is interesting to see how early and how fundamental the programming is.

Reflecting on the preparation for the trip, I have really enjoyed getting the motorhome organized and outfitted so things are orderly and efficient.  Shows some of my interests, skills, and values.

Some day, I’d like to come back to this area in Minnesota and Wisconsin.  There were lots of places I would have stopped if I wasn’t on such a tight deadline to get to Toronto.  It seems Minnesota is known for quilts and Wisconsin is known for cheese and wild rice.

I changed my sign to read....
People R the Value.......I-UV.com.......... You R Free !!
It seemed like it would be more likely to invite questions that way.

After a long day of 409 km, I camped at Iron Mountain, Michigan, near Kingsford, MI.

Aug 5
As I drove along the north coast of Lake Michigan there wasn’t much to see.  The road runs through the trees and is interrupted by a village every now and then. Michigan is broken in two by the Straits of Mackinac which join Lake Michigan and Lake Huron.  They built a 5 mile long bridge over the strait. It didn’t feel like 5 miles long. Fundraising of 100 Million dollars for the bridge started in 1953 (my birth year) and construction was completed in 1957.
Michigan reminds me of BC without the mountains.

Drove 375 km & camped in Indian River, MI just south of the Straits of Mackinac.

Aug 6

I drove on I-75 freeway all day.  Speed limit is mostly 75 mph (apx 120 km/hr) and there are trees on both sides so there wasn’t a lot to see.

This is my last full day in the US.  I’m looking forward to the pace slowing down some so I can meet some people.  Seems like when campers know you are moving on, they tend to just say hello and not much more.

Drove 344 km  & camped in Lapeer, MI just east of Flint.
