PEI Confederation Bridge

On Aug 14 we drove from Fundy National Park to Charlottetown, PEI.

We crossed over the Confederation Bridge which is 12.9 km long.  Since the bridge is only 2 lanes wide it is a strange feeling to be driving over the ocean on this tall skinny strip of concrete and metal.  Here is more about it. http://www.confederationbridge.com/about/confederation-bridge.html  These photos were taken as we left PEI but its hard to capture the scale of it in a picture. There is a toll to cross the bridge but, cleverly, they only charge the toll when you leave (it was about $45 for 2 axels).  This makes sense from two perspectives.  Visitors can come to the island for free and many locals rarely leave.
