Reconnecting with my Cousin

On August 24 I went to visit my cousin Marvelann (Marv) and her husband Murray in Lantz, just outside Dartmouth, NS.  I have not seen them for at least 50 years.

It was so nice to be warmly welcomed into their home and to have a wonderful afternoon of connecting and strolling down memory lane.  I found out things about my father's roots and life that I didn't know.  I could see my Aunty Madeline's features in Marv's face.  I learned about their children and grandchildren.  One of the limbs of my family tree was brought back into the light.  I am so grateful.

Their grand daughter Amy is about to have their first great grandchild and has taken over the acreage they lived on for years.  Amy is into organic and natural farming and market gardening.  I can't wait to connect her with my sister Charlotte.  They will have a lot to talk about.

Here they are looking wonderfully vibrant at about 80 years old.  Inspiring!
