Cordury, my wheels & Me

My first tastes of Eastern Ontario

I camped near Cornwall, ON on Sept 11.  What a night!  A thunderstorm parked over the campground for 6 hours.  It flashed, banged and dumped a ton of water.  Here's what the camp ground looked like the next morning.

Even the wild turkeys were out
looking for dry ground.

That pool of water, to the right, covers one of the 2 sites I had to choose from.  Glad I chose the higher ground!

Heading west along the 401 got too boring and too nerve wracking so I thought I'd get off the beaten path again.  I turned north on #41 at Napanee.  Soon I was rewarded with a sign that directed me to the Hell Holes.  This sounded like something I'd like to see so off I went.

Driving into Hell Hole park area was wonderful.  It was a narrow road with big trees on both sides forming an arch over the road which undulated up and down over the hills.  In one place I stopped to take a picture because it looked so magical.  The trees formed a tunnel and I could see light at the far end - it was so inviting.  Here is the picture I took and it is not what I saw at all!

That black band crossing the road was not there when I took the picture.  I'm not sure what it is.  Its not a shadow like the ones closer to me.  I wonder if I passed through some kind of energetic field as I drove through???

Anyway, I got to the gate of the Hell Holes only to find out it was closed for the season.  Darn!
