| Even the wild turkeys were out looking for dry ground. |
That pool of water, to the right, covers one of the 2 sites I had to choose from. Glad I chose the higher ground!
Heading west along the 401 got too boring and too nerve wracking so I thought I'd get off the beaten path again. I turned north on #41 at Napanee. Soon I was rewarded with a sign that directed me to the Hell Holes. This sounded like something I'd like to see so off I went.
Driving into Hell Hole park area was wonderful. It was a narrow road with big trees on both sides forming an arch over the road which undulated up and down over the hills. In one place I stopped to take a picture because it looked so magical. The trees formed a tunnel and I could see light at the far end - it was so inviting. Here is the picture I took and it is not what I saw at all!
That black band crossing the road was not there when I took the picture. I'm not sure what it is. Its not a shadow like the ones closer to me. I wonder if I passed through some kind of energetic field as I drove through???
Anyway, I got to the gate of the Hell Holes only to find out it was closed for the season. Darn!
