Charlotte and Sandy's Farm

On May 2 Cayly and I left Calgary in my motorhome and arrived at the farm on May 3rd.  Charlotte and Sandy live near Fort St. James, BC which is about  an hour west of Prince George and about 30 minutes north of Vanderhoof.

They live in a cozy log house.

Charlotte takes care of the livestock:  They have 25 cows, 25 new calves, 1 bull and 6 steers.  There are about 30 chickens, 2 cats and 2 dogs (and Cordy makes 3).  There are also 5 bee hives.

Sandy's garden is huge and includes 3 green houses, 1 seed starter house, lots of raised beds, and more than enough weeds!  Here's what it looks like as of June 14.

In the summer, preparation for and participation in the Farmer's Market is a big focus.  More on that in another blog
